MALAYSIA MADE IT INTO THE AFF SUZUKI CUP 2010 FINAL

When referee Kim Sang Woo of Korea Republic blew the final whistle at the full capacity crowd in My Dinh Hanoi Stadium yesterday. It was such a great relief especially to all those Malaysian fans at home watching it live on the television. Some who just couldn't stand to wait for that moment after sitting anxiously for the whole 90 minutes shout and jump for joy spontaneously.

Suddenly throughout the country everybody is talking about football. Even though the AFF Suzuki Cup is just for the Asean countries but still the passion and the hunger from the fans is unbelievable.

Even at the kampong coffee shop it was pack with the veterans and otais all getting together watching with great interest throughout the whole 90 minutes. Nasi lemak, roti canai, mee goreng, telor mata kerbau, maggie curry and teh tarik were sold out.

Malaysian drew 0-0 against Vietnam in Hanoi in the second-leg and advance into the final on aggregate 2-0.

Some says they have waited so long for this moment and believed that the Malaysian football is back alive. And they really enjoy and definitely they want more this time by winning the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 for the very first time.

And now the fans realised they need to play their part. This weekend the Malaysian football team need their support when they played the final first leg on Sunday against Indonesia at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. Don't be surprised it would be one of the biggest turn out ever recorded at the National Stadium.

Even kids too are now looking up to the Malaysian football team and they started to said their heroes names such as Norshahrul, Safee, Safiq, Kunanlan, Muslim and Khairul Fahmi.

The team deserved credit and coach K.Rajagopal did his job well even though they made a disastrous start in their earlier group campaign. The players work very hard indeed on their way  and prove their worth to be in the final.

But lastly I would like to remind to all the Malaysian football fans that this kind of achievement could not happen just like that. It take years to come this far. Not but least we must thank and not to forget those coaches from the state working tirelessly in grooming and producing this group of young players at their tender age. Especially those coaches who are attached with the state football academy. Credit too must given to them. I am sure this coaches are the most happiest  of them all.

The truth is, if the Malaysian sides does capture the AFF Suzuki Cup the father and the creator of this academy programme the late Dato' Paduka Ahmad Basri from Kedah would surely be smiling in heaven.

FAM should thank them if not for them the national body is just a bunch of crap. After nearly more than 10 years FAM is still in the dark and unsure about the football academy programme in the state FA's  that they had created.

At a certain point they nearly close to shut down this programme but luckily the National Sports Council saw it and put this programme under their wings and collaborate with National School Sports Council. If FAM had been more focus on the programme with a solid base structure guidelines the national sides had already been higher up the ranks and could be much better.
