HAIL MALAYSIA - THE NEW KING OF ASEAN FOOTBALL

WHAT a night! What a wonder-wonderful night. Well done lads. You made us and the nation really proud. What an achievement and what a historic moment for the Malaysian football. Its alive. We have been waiting so long for this. Go lads go. Long live Malaysian football.

After capturing the SEA Games gold medal and now the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 surely the fans  are waiting for more. The Malaysian national football  team really capture our heart and they have shown and proved their worth even though playing in front sell out home crowd nearly 95,000 at Gelora Bung Karno Senayan Stadium last night.

I am sure from now on you are not alone. The fans will be there for you. Keep up the good work and   start believing in yourself. For team manager Datuk Subahan, coach K. Rajagopal and all his coaching staff you are marvelous and there is no words to describe how happy the fans were, all throughout the country.
Against all odds they taunt you, disrupt your training session and gave you sleepless night but you guys perform admirably with your heart and soul by showing no fear and bringing the cup to Malaysia.

Even though Malaysia lost 2-1 in the second-leg but we took the cup on 4-2 aggregate. There were moment where we thought that we were going to lose when referee Peter Green from Australia awarded a penalty in the 17th minute after the ball struck defender Sabre Mat Abu right   arm.

But the turning point is when goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi guessed correctly to save the spot-kick taken by the Indonesian captain Firman Utina. We already knows the cup is ours. Once when Safee Salie scores with a full blooded left strike. It confirms case close sign-seal-deliver we won. Two goals by the home side in the last 20 minutes first by defender Mohamad Nasuha (71st)  and Mohd Ridwan in the 87th minute was not enough to spark the fightback.

Everybody plays their part well. Ahmad Muslim holding the back line firmly. Captain's Safiq Rahim in midfield and Safee and Norshahrul Idlan Talha upfront help Malaysia to win the cup for the very first time since 1996 when the Malaysian side reach the final under coach Wan Jamak Wan Hassan.

To add more insult for Indonesia they had a foreign coach and  a naturalised Uruguayan player. Whereas we Malaysian 100 percent local but still they fails to win the cup.
Striker Safee Salie took the top scorer award with 5 goals. While the Indonesian got a consolation through captain Firman Utina with the Most Valuable Player Award which I find it hard to believe and Philippines won the Fair Play Award.
