TALES OF TWO GOALKEEPER

Two upcoming goalkeeper Sani and Khairul
TONIGHT clash between Negri Sembilan and Kelantan we will witness two upcoming young goalkeeper Sani Anuar Kamsani for the Deers and Khairul Fahmi Che Mat for the Red Warriors. 

Both are instrumental in keeping their side fine run into the Malaysia Cup final which will end tonight.


Coincidentally both are running for the 100PLUS FAM Best Goalkeeper Award and their performance in the final tonight will be closely watch and could decide the winner. Both have the same namesake `Apek' to their close and school friends. 

Both are not a regular starter for their respective team. Sani came into the the scene when Negri first choice goalkeeper Mohd Farizal Harun was injured and played in the FA Cup final against Kedah and the pony-tail keeper became a hero instantly during the penalty shootout against Kedah which Negri won.

While Khairul Fahmi become understudy under current national goalkeeper Syed Adney Syed Hussin also came into the limelight when Syed Adney was injured. The 21 year old continued to play well and the highlight of his performance was against Selangor in the second-leg Malaysia Cup semi-final in Kota Bharu and was rewarded when he earned his national call up for the Asian Games in Guangzhou next month.

Sani Anuar Kamsani born in Kajang, Selangor plays in the President Cup team but never gets opportunity playing for the senior side and move to Kelantan for a season before joined PDRM and later signed with Negri Sembilan.
While Khairul plays for club side PKNS in 2007 and was selected to represent Harimau Muda in 
2008 before he came back to Kelantan in 2009. But his services was needed more for the President Cup side. His first senior team appearance was six months ago against T-Team.

Compare to Sani, tonight will be Khairul first taste of the cup final and while for the Negri goalkeeper his second straight finals after guiding Negri Sembilan to victory in the FA Cup final. Wish them both the best of luck.
